HELMET DIVING AT BORACAY ISLAND!

Strike a pose first while waiting for our turn. :)
Have you experience breathing underwater while surrounded by amazing marine life? Or being close to colorful feral fishes swimming right around your face? Well.... I do and it is such an unforgettable astonishing experience.

My friends and I eagerly tried Boracay Helmet Diving  at a cheaper cost - P350. The normal price costs P700 to P1500. The package include the following:

  • Boat ride to the diving site
  • Assistance from 2 PADI qualified dive instructors
  • Helmet Diving equipment
  • Souvenir pictures and video

HELMET DIVING is the alternative method of scuba diving. Those who don't know how to swim perfectly fits this kind of activity. You will be able to breathe underwater while marveling with tropical fishes on the colorful sea floor. Here is a video of my underwater adventure together with my good friends - Nino, Thess and Danhill - yours truly is in yellow rash vest. :P

A fancy became reality! :)

We were taken by a speedboat to the diving site where the diving platform rest. There are others who are already waiting for their turn as we arrived. Truly, this activity is a popular thing to do at Boracay! We were oriented first on the do's and don'ts while on the sea bed and of course the hand gestures / sign languages we will use to communicate with the divers.

After a couple of pictures at the diving platform, we were prepped for the dive!! This is it. I glide myself down the ladder while waiting for the white helmet to be inserted over my head. After a while, the diving assistant inserted the helmet on my head which to my surprise weighs about the entire world -- it actually weighs 20 kilos! It is attached to a hose that pumps air inside the helmet. It probably took me couple of breathes to get used to an alternative way of breathing! Hell NO! -- It's not bad at all. Seems likes you are breathing normally just what you do in land. Amazing technique!

Here are some of our amazing still shots underwater.
