August. A month-long historical celebration of Dabawenyos highlighting unique culture of our Muslim brothers and sisters and the customs and traditions of the indigenous people regarding the bountiful harvest of the city. This celebration is called Kadayawan Festival.
The word Kadayawan is derived from a Mandaya word "dayaw", a warm and friendly greeting used by locals to refer to something good, valuable, superior or beautiful.
Kadayawan 2012 is one way to celebrate unity of the 10 tribes of Davao. One reason why this years theme is "Ten Tribes One Vibe" as shown in this official Kadayawan 2012 logo.
